FROM COLD TERROR FLEET

Qob in SpaceThe Kling Will Rise Again

I recently read an email from an ex KAGster, whose name you old-timers would recognize. He's semi-retired and rarely posts on the Internet. His contention is that the “glory days“ of Klindom are behind us. That we will never reach the heights of activity that we had in the early 90s. What's next I thought? Toss my armor in the trash? Sell my knives as scrap metal? Give up Trekkieness and start following “Fear-Factor“ instead?

I always have believed that predicting that you will lose is always a safe bet. If you believe you will lose, it's very rare that you will win. If you go into a situation with the firm confidence that you will succeed and grow, you just might be right. Is Fandom on the decline? Does the end of Star Trek mean an end of “Fandom As We Know It?“ This, I refuse to believe. I don't believe that we can live in the past.  We can remember it, but we should never judge that today's fandom is inferior to what we remember of yesterday's. I believe you can only live by thinking, “Today is the day that I will live, I will rejoice in it!”

Now the news from the Cold Terror Fleet. New ships! We have new ships and new Warriors. Most notable is the new ship based out of Texas, the IKV Monkey Devil, captained by K'Dlah tai K'awli. I say based because none of them are now in Texas, and will not be for awhile. The Monkey Devil is currently serving in the US Army, patrolling the streets of Baghdad Iraq! We have put together a Klingon Kare package of books tee-shirts posters banners and such for them. They will be returning to Fort Worth at the end of July and the Texas Klingons are working on getting together with them.

The other new ships (I am aware of) are in Iowa, the Ice Dagger captained by Garahg tai Hurric and the Phantom Cat commanded by Kheyl and Khidri. We had a meeting of the Iowa Klingons at Japa’s, the commander of the oldest ship in Iowa, the Blackthunder. These are talented motivated people who will make a difference in Klindom. I feel Iowa is going to explode in creativity and action in the next year. I plan to go down to DemiCon at the end of July and do my cheerleading thing.

All in all I think we are just about ready for a Klingon Renaissance! Coming soon to a Convention near you!
