Members of the IKS roSwI’ journeyed to Seymour, IN today to support ghIntaq tengchaH at the Jackson County Public Library’s Mini-Con.
cha”Iv, cheS, mIl’oD, and I boarded my personal shuttle, Lt. Z, and departed French Lick around Noon.
We made good time as we traveled through field after field of Terran grains.
When we arrived, we were greeted at the door by a Terran delegate who awarded us with the last door prize.
Upon seeing our atire, we were strongly urged to enter the Costume Contest.
cha”Iv and I entered while cheS and mIl’oD opted out.
After being informed of the day’s events, we posed for a picture, and then headed into the Con.
ghIntaq tengchaH had a recruiting table setup right inside the entrance, primed to get the attention of everyone who arrived.
Besides the typical handouts, there were con-safe betleHmey and a command chair set up in front our Empire’s flag.
I assigned mIl’oD to assist in guarding the table, while cha”Iv, cheS, and I patrolled the rest of the building.
Among other things, we found the gaming room, and played a round of Chutes and Ladders.
While people were very impressed with our appearance, we did not win the costume contest, but fun was still had by all.
We stayed until the Con’s end, and then proceeded back to Orange County.
On the way, we invaded a Subway for dinner, and the clerk was very excited to see us, the other patrons, however, had mixed reactions.
Our last stop was a full-service fueling station, where the pump attendant didn’t even bat an eye at our appearance.
Apparently Klingons refueling here is an everyday occurrence.
A successful mission.
In attendance from the IKS roSwI’ (ghIntaq tengchaH’s CO will submit his own report):
Lieutenant Commander naHQun – in Imperial uniform
Cadet Lieutenant cha”Iv – debuting her Vulcan look
Cadet 2nd Lieutenant cheS – debuting his generic Starfleet command officer uniform
2nd Lieutenant mIl’oD – in Imperial uniform
This event acted as a trial run before Beyond.
As cha”Iv has recently decided to go Vulcan, she needed to test her new look.
Her ears worked out fine, but her tricorder strap had some issues that will need to be worked out this week.
cheS was able to fix his communicator issues in the field and is set for Beyond.
