As we in the United States celebrate our Independence Day let us not forget that freedom is never free. It has been bought and paid for with the dearest blood of Americans who have gone before us. We celebrate freedom and honor the men and women who have fought to make this American Dream a reality for us.
Pilgrims came to this country seeking religious freedom, peasants came searching for economic freedom, minorities have come yearning for cultural freedom, and others have wanting individual freedom.
The unity of freedom has never relied on uniformity of opinion. As we look through the different post throughout our club, we can see that the difference of opinion is alive and well here. Everyone has an opinion; no matter what is said or done at the end of the day we are all still brothers and sisters.
I am among those who believe that the greatest freedom of speech is the greatest safety, because if a person is a fool the best thing to do is to encourage them to advertise the fact by speaking.
